Dear Alexander,

We’ve endured months of governing by bullying and distraction from this Administration.

While serious issues requiring competent governance; North Korea, Yemen, Pakistan, climate crisis and the economy, healthcare sit making little, if any, genuine movement, Trump and most recently Pence prefer to obfuscate addressing real issues of police brutality, racial injustice, and growing fascism. In many ways their statements and actions fuel the misinformation that leads people to see a dignified act of civil disobedience as an assault on their sense of patriotism. The administration only succeeds in deepening a sense of “the other” among US residents, fueling fear, seeding hate.

Donald Trump get it twisted; we know better. We demand peace in our communities from police violence, peace from our country for non-violent protests and dissent, and peace for this planet for all beings to live without threat of war and exploitation.
