The Prince George’s County Lynching Memorial Project is hosting a Community Remembrance event at 1 p.m. this Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at the Harmony Hall Arts Center ,10701 Livingston Road, Fort Washington. 

The event honors Mr. Thomas Juricks, the first known victim of a racial terror lynching in Prince George’s County. 

Mr. Thomas Juricks — a Black man, husband, and father of six children — was lynched by a white mob in Prince Georges County on October 12, 1869
