On Monday, June 15, 2020, Reel and Meal presents via ZOOM the documentary “Who will Write Our History,” a bold story of Nazi resistance inside the Warsaw Ghetto 1939-1945. Community leaders wrote eyewitness accounts of the Holocaust, which they buried in the hopes that the archive would survive the war, even if they did not. It took years to recover the archive of 30,000 pages, which now forms an important source of information.

Eminent scholar, Jonathan Brent, Executive Director and CEO of The YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, will lead the discussion following the film. YIVO is the world’s premier academic institute devoted to teaching and the study of East European Jewish history, language and culture. It has the most comprehensive archive of the modern Jewish experience outside of Israel.
