Speaker: Chuck Woolery, UN Reform (“My last job on Capitol hill as Issues Director for the World Federalist Association grounded my views on their priorities and why they needed to reframe their objectives.)
Chuck started as a HS Biology teacher and reached the peak of his professional career as Issues Director of the Global Health Council and World Federalist Association. From those his peers elected him to the Action Board of the American Public Health Association (membership of 120,000 US Health Professionals), and Chair the United Nation’s Association Council of Organizations (representing over 110 US based NGOs with a collective membership of over 25 million Americans). Now most of his volunteer time is leading weekly Weed Warrior events for the city of Rockville and Montgomery County – as a Certified MoCo Weed Warrior supervisor. And just completed his 6th year as head wrestling Coach at Charles E. Smith Jewish Day school.
“We are all– always wrestling with issues and concerns in our lives. Or we should be — given the persistent changes in our bodies and the world.” “Loving persistence” and “ruthless compassion” are two qualities his mentors offered. Chuck remains an avid quote collector… One favorite — “Science is my passion, politics my duty.” Thomas Jefferson . His biggest fault may be offering people what they need to know – instead of what they want to hear.
