The film documents the 1980’s women’s vigil and protest in Greenham Commons, England determined to stop deployment of American nuclear cruise missiles there. The vigil, mostly peaceful, all female, the longest such social action in British history, stayed encamped for as long as it took to achieve their goals.
We are happy to have Greenbelt’s own Leeann Irwin, who participated in the Greenham Commons action, with us to host the after-film Q+A. Leeann spent many years active there and in similar actions elsewhere in Europe and here in the USA. She will share her experiences for what will be an uplifting evening of peace in action.
For more information, please call Frank Gervasi at 301 467-2418. Hope you can join us for this uplifting, enjoyable and poignant film program.
