Ask your legislators to vote environment

Climate Solutions Now
We need to establish strong overarching climate goals, create strong policies to reduce pollution from our buildings, transition from fossil fuels to clean energy, shift to electric vehicles, modernize the grid, and ensure these policies are equitable in their impacts and benefits. Ask your legislators to vote for Climate Solutions in Annapolis now!

Josh Tulkin, Director
Sierra Club Maryland Chapter

Environmental Human Rights
Ask your legislators to add Environmental Human Rights to the Maryland Constitution to establish each person’s fundamental right to clean air, water, land, and healthful, sustainable environment and join a virtual letter writing party on March 1st.

Update Electricity GRID
Our outdated electricity grid can’t meet Maryland’s climate goals! We never think about the distribution grid until we have a storm and the lights go out…but in reality, planning of the electricity distribution system is key to achieving our clean energy and climate goals. Tell your legislators to support the Greater Reliability and Inclusive Distribution (GRID) Act (HB88 / SB525) to modernize Maryland’s electricity grid.

Paint Stewardship
Tell your legislators to vote for the Maryland Paint Stewardship Act (HB 18/SB 143) which will provide more convenient collection options for leftover paint; increase recycling, reuse, and donation; create new jobs in paint recycling; and make paint manufacturers responsible for managing the end-of-life of their product, shifting the costs away from local government.

Electrify Diesel Trucks
Thousands of diesel trucks and school buses release dangerous pollutants in exhaust fumes that make people sick and worsen the climate crisis. Tell your legislators to Electrify Dirty Diesel Trucks in Maryland! Act now!
