Greenbelt Climate Action Network (GCAN) will hold its next monthly meeting, via zoom, on Wed, Oct 14, 7-9 pm.

The first half of our meeting will focus on the THRIVE Agenda Resolution, that was recently introduced into Congress. (Transform, Heal, and Renew by Investing in a Vibrant Economy)  https://www.sierraclub.org/THRIVE   We will explore the 8 “pillars” and compare them to the Six Principles for a Just Recovery that we discussed last month.  You do not need to have attended last month for this discussion, as we will quickly review the Six Principles for those who missed last month.

The remainder of our time will be to begin to narrow down our campaign goals for the fall.   This month, we will hear brief updates about 7 of our 17 options.

Ø  Beyond Coal

Ø  Maryland Legislative Coalition, Climate Justice goals

Ø  Composting for Large Institutions

Ø  Transportation & Climate Initiative

Ø  PG Co School Board, Climate Action Plan

Ø  Clean Air Prince Georges, Brandywine Power Plants

Participants will be invited to join a “straw poll” to help us rank order our interest.
