Women: Mercy to Particpiate in 2018 Women’s March

Women Alert

Mercys to Take to Streets Again Jan. 19-21

Dear Tony

Nearly a year ago, hundreds of Mercys converged on the National Mall and in cities around the United States to join the Women’s March and witness to our critical concern for women seeking fullness of life.

We can take to the streets again Jan. 20-21 with the 2018 Women’s March, at a time when courageous women are confronting sexual harassment and assault and bringing their perspectives in runs for public office. The main march will be in Las Vegas, with other sites around the country, to launch a national voter registration tour committed to lifting up the voices of the most marginalized communities.

If you’d like to join Mercy at the march in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Jan. 20, contact Marianne Comfort of the Institute Justice Team atmcomfort@sistersofmercy.org. Also, please send photos and descriptions of any events you participate in.

Mercy also will be participating in the March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Jan. 19 with some of our key partners in justice work, raising the banner of a consistent ethic of life that declares opposition to abortion, euthanasia, environmental destruction, poverty, and war.

For those of you unable to participate in any of these events, please pray for Mercy’s public witness and advocacy for social and environmental justice.

Thank you,

Sisters of Mercy’s Institute Justice Team
