The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is organizing a National Emergency Truth and Poverty Tour in over thirty states from late March to early May.

The Maryland Poor People’s Campaign is organizing a tour on April 24 and April 27. We will:

  • Go to Baltimore City to the Oak Hill Youth Center on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30 PM for a Round Table discussion of impacted persons on the challenges they are facing.
  • Go to Westminster to the Westminster Public Library on Saturday, April 27 at 10:00 AM to see how the Carroll County PPC is preparing for their first organizing action
  • Go to Upper Marlboro to the Upper Marlboro Public Library on Saturday, April 27, at 2:00 PM to hear from several impacted persons sharing their truth
  • Go to Rockville on April 27, at 4:30 PM to hear the stories of people living in a men’s homeless shelter and low-income housing.

We are inviting the public to join us at each stop on the tour to hear the stories of people impacted by the challenges they face due to poverty, systemic racism, militarism, and the war economy and our distorted National narrative.

Will you stand with us as we shine a light on the injustices and policy violence hurting our communities?

Interested in spreading the word about the Truth and Poverty Tour in Maryland to give us a hand, you can:

  • Step 1: Spread the word on social media:

Make sure to use the hashtag #TruthAndPovertyTour and tag your state group, too!

  • Step 2: Invite four of your friends to come along
  • Step 3: Sign up for more information on our Moral Action Congress in June, where we’ll bring hundreds of Poor People’s Campaign supporters to our nation’s capital to return our national conversation to the moral center of who we are as a nation and democracy

Together, we can lift up the voices of our state’s poor and suffering and shine a spotlight on systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, and the war economy.

Forward together,
